Over the two half-day interactive workshop held online, Dr. Duarte embarked on the path of enhancing his supervision skills to better support students. The course was designed not just for established supervisors, but also for those new to the role or who find themselves in supervisory positions by delegation. The sessions explored key aspects of supervision such as understanding the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor, supporting students through challenges, managing expectations, and maintaining progress through open and constructive communication.
Dr. Duarte stated: “This training allowed me to reflect deeply on my own supervisory approach and develop a clear “road-map” for future mentoring. Moving forward, I plan to apply these insights to strengthen my supervision practice, share best practices with colleagues, and contribute to a culture of effective, empathetic, and goal-oriented mentoring.”
