From over 100 applications, Dr. Karen de la Vega Hernández was selected as one of 17 finalists to pitch live at the Falling Walls Lab Competition for Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows, held during the MSCA 2025 Presidency Conference: Attracting and Retaining Research Talent in Europe in Lyngby, Denmark. In a three-minute presentation titled “Breaking the Wall of Molecular Monotony”, Karen showcased the outcomes of their MSCA fellowship conducted in the group of Prof. Marcos García Suero at ICIQ.
Among the finalists, three awardees were chosen to represent the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions at the prestigious Falling Walls Lab Global Finale in Berlin this November, and Dr. Karen de la Vega Hernández is one of them. The Global Finale takes place during the Falling Walls Science Summit, which gathers global leaders in science, policy, business, and media, including the ERC President, the German Minister of Research, and heads of institutions such as ETH Zurich, CNRS, and CERN.
Being part of this event underscores the importance of international collaboration and creativity in shaping the future of science and offers a unique opportunity to showcase MSCA research on a truly global stage.
