The 6th Edition of the International Caparica Conference on Chromogenic and Emissive Materials took place on the week from July 7th to 11th of 2024 in Portugal. This edition marked the 10th anniversary of the event, reuniting a great variety of topics on materials science, sensing, and medicine. One of the standout attendees was Dr. Luís Duarte.
Dr. Duarte, ICIQ MSCA PF, made an oral contribution entitled, “De novo proteins as scaffolds for bioinspired light-converting complexes.” to present the latest findings of his project: deBioLed. This project explores an innovative approach to create efficient, eco-friendly OLEDs using bioinspired CCLs. By engineering intricate photophysical phenomena within de novo proteins, Dr. Duarte is contributing to a greener and more sustainable lighting technology.
