I recently had the privilege of participating in a scientific project management course offered by the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST).
The “Scientific Project Management- Managing Projects With Impact, Excellence, And Eficacy” course is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with essential project management skills through a blend of theory and practical application. Spanning five sessions, the course covers fundamentals, toolkits, and hands-on project work, culminating in an elevator pitch competition.
This experience was not only a fantastic opportunity to learn and improve my skills but also a pivotal moment in my career development. The knowledge and insights I gained from this course will be immensely valuable as I continue to grow professionally and navigate the complexities of scientific research.
It was definitely essential in terms of career development, and it gave me excellent tools to progress in my MSCA project. I gained hands-on experience on how Project Management in the scientific context works, and currently I am already trying to apply it to my experiments, results and mostly on my planning and reporting! This, in turn, boosted my confidence and equipped me with a set of skills that I can immediately apply to my work.
Participating in the BIST course has been a significant step in my career development. It has not only enhanced my project management skills but also expanded my understanding of how to lead scientific endeavors with greater efficiency and impact. I now feel more prepared to take on leadership roles within my research projects and contribute more effectively to their success.
Reflecting on this experience, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the BIST course. It has been a game-changer for me, providing the skills and confidence needed to excel in my field. I would highly encourage anyone involved in scientific research to consider similar training. Project management is not just a set of tools; it’s a critical skill set that can make a profound difference in how we approach our work and achieve our goals.
Project management has truly become a cornerstone of my professional growth, and I am excited to see where these new skills will take me in the future.
